Frequently asked questions
What is Canvastone?
CanvaStone is a next-generation surface material crafted from real marble powder, pressed onto a flexible backing and sealed with high-performance binders for stability and strength. It retains the authentic mineral depth and tactile richness of natural stone while offering exceptional versatility and ease of installation. Each design is finished with UV-cured printing technology, ensuring long-lasting color consistency and resistance to discoloration and fading.
Why choose Canvastone?
Canvastone provides the same refined aesthetic as natural stone, but with significant advantages:
- Unparalleled flexibility
- Ultra-lightweight and easy to handle
- Dramatically lowers material and installation costs compared to slabs.
- Faster installation with no heavy machinery required
- Durable, waterproof, and mold-resistant.
This makes Canvastone ideal for both residential and commercial projects.
What if my wall is larger than one roll?
Canvastone is designed for continuous coverage. Our rolls can be aligned edge-to-edge to create a seamless visual surface, allowing large walls, feature panels, and wrapped volumes to appear as one uninterrupted stone composition. In particular, the Onyx Series features designs engineered for pattern continuity both vertically and horizontally. When installing, simply align the pattern and press to ensure a smooth transition without visible joints.
How do I maintain Canvastone?
Maintenance is simple. Clean the surface with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh solvents, acidic cleaners, and abrasive pads.
Is Canvastone suitable for wet or humid areas?
Absolutely. When properly coated and installed, Canvastone performs beautifully in bathrooms, showers, spas, kitchens, and other high-moisture environments. It can also be used in covered outdoor applications.
How is CanvaStone installed?
CanvaStone was developed to be installed with the same simplicity as wallpaper — but with the depth and durability of real stone. The material is lightweight, flexible, and easy to position. It adheres to surfaces using standard high-bond adhesives, and can be trimmed cleanly with everyday cutting tools.
While a professional installer will ensure the most refined finish, skilled DIYers can confidently manage simple applications.
For step-by-step guidance, refer to the Canvastone User Manual.
Can CanvaStone be applied over existing surfaces?
Yes. CanvaStone can be installed directly over many existing surfaces—including drywall, smooth tiles, MDF, plywood, and furniture panels—provided the substrate is stable, clean, and properly prepared. This makes it an excellent solution for renovations and remodels without demolition or heavy construction.
